Sanchay by Anita Kumari

Original Painting

The piggy-bank, is a symbol of savings, in rural India where many people do not even have a bank account. Anita Kumar brings to the fore this fact, while celebrating the economic independence of women who have access to money, savings and hence mobility. In the narrative style the little vignettes of women enjoying their freedom reinforce this.
